Something something, native american ghost activity in Amityville.
Plot[]
Some security-guy goes into the abandoned cinema of Amityville, because he suspects some homeless broke in. He ends up dead. Then the niece of the owners goes there with her buddies for a weekend to watch over it. This devolves into a classless young adults horror: they find the slacking Wendy living in the movie theatre, two of the "scoobies" see Fawn jump off from the balcony and splash her head, but it was not true, there's no phone signal, the the main - only - entrence locks itself. At one point, out of options, the group even starts to play with an ouija-board.
In the meantime a teacher of Fawn is looking for the history of the place - would have beenn ice if we'd got a sequential reveal of informations, but nah, that's too good for this one. The eventual reveal is, that the founders of the city burried something - let's call it a demon - at the price of 6 people entombed with it, and this riutalic sacrifise is repeated every year. This is as the legend goes, but then it is reveald 6 natives were posessed for meddling with what they shouldn't have had.
Racist tropes aside, the point is, the major states, the town supervised the demon until now, and there was no breakout. So the DeFeo murders could not happen before this movie takes place - those by the way happened in 1974. So when the film shows us some city records of births and deaths, and one of the dates is 1978, that excludes this being a prequel too. so despite some elements taken from the Amityville Horror, in the end, things do not add up.
