Father Bolen was a priest, working under Father Delaney for a local church in Amityville area.

Father Bolen is introduced in the story when he answered the phone on behalf of what appeared to be a sick Father Delaney. Kathy Lutz is concerned that Delaney had not shown up the day before to bless the house. Bolen said that he thought that was what Delancy was doing yesterday. Kathy told Bolen to say Hi and that the Lutz's are wishing him well to Delaney.
